You can boot into terminal without using a rescue disk or installation media by following these steps.

1. When your system boots, pause with the grub menu.
2. Highlight your OS to which you want to boot. Press 'e' then.
3. Highlight kernel (that will be second in the menu) and press 'e' again.
4. Without changing the kernel arguments, add '3' with space (without quotes). Press enter. 3 is runlevel for terminal with networking support.
5. This goes back to grub menu with kernel highlighted. Press 'b' to boot into.

Thats it! you will be booted to terminal. Do your gui-enemy stuffs there.

You can also prefer different run levels in kernel arguments (step 4).

Run levels in fedora:
1 -Single-User mode
2 -Multi-user mode console logins only (without networking)
3 -Multi-User mode, console logins only
5 -Multi-User mode, with display manager as well as console logins (X11)

What a IPL match yesterday! In my opinion no sports can beat the entertainment, twist and thrill provided in cricket. Besides all speculations, the final match brought all cricket lovers close together again. The very sad thing is that IPL gone bad due to the huge sum of money involved in it. Shame on those who made it worse. Lets hope all done clean for the next year’s IPL.

Congrats Chennai Super Kings! You deserve it from the first tournament for your great consistency shown by all you guys in all terms. Great performance as a team!

Lets put together all these wonderful talents into single great team for the World Cup T20.

Its a microbloggin client. I quite liked it. Very simple. Easy to use.
It supports Twitter, Facebook, Statusnet, FriendFeed, etc.
If you have seen my twitter status, you might have noticed it.
Gwibber is in fedora repo. Just useyum install gwibberto install.
Don’t forget to enable editor in menu or else you will be wondering how to tweet :)

Hmm… anyway the degree comes. why to worry!

You can get it here This will add Google’s repository into your system to keep chrome up to date.

However, if you don’t want to add Google’s repo and want to stick to premium fedora builds, you can follow below method.

Tom ’spot’, Fedora engineering manager has his own repo, in which he maintains Chrome packages for fedora and are always up to date. Its available for Fedora 10, 11 and 12.

To install chromium in this way, first you need to create a new repo.

Login as root and then
vim /etc/yum.repos.d/chromium.repo

If you are a GUI guy, then
gedit /etc/yum.repos.d/chromium.repo

Add up the following lines into file:
[chromium]
name=Chromium Packages
baseurl=http://spot.fedorapeople.org/chromium/F$releasever/
enabled=1
gpgcheck=0

That’s it! Now yum it
yum install chromium

If all done for success, your chrome browser is ready to browse. Find chrome in application menu -> internet.

Enjoy Google’s Chrome! Try not to give monoploy to Google :)
